Beary Colourful BOM: Healthy Choices Red-Violet Bear

Red-Violet Bear of Healthy Choices appliqué by Clever Chameleon

Today we truly have a Berry Colourful Bear to add to our Beary Colourful family. Please welcome the Red-Violet Bear of Healthy Choices!

Red-Violet Bear is so bursting full of health and vitality you could probably catch a wellness from this guy! He chooses good healthy food full of vitamins and antioxidants. He chooses clean air, drinks lots of water, exercises regularly. And he knows that treats are only “sometimes foods”. If there is a healthy choice to be made, Red-Violet Ted is all over it like a rash. He is of course too perfect to be true, and can get a bit irritating like the aforementioned health issue. But he isn’t into guilt trips. He just genuinely wants to inspire you to be just a little bit kinder to your body today than you were yesterday!

Beary Colourful Bear BOMPlease welcome the very energetic and springy Bear of Healthy Choices to the Beary Colourful family. I’m not sure this quilt is really big enough to contain him, as he looks ready to leap off his block. He also looks good enough to eat, but you’d have to catch him first!

The ninth bear in the Beary Colourful Quilt BOM series is super enthusiastic about all things good-for-you. Add this healthy bear to your collection as a reminder to live well and be kind to yourself. And then go check out the rest of the 2018 Color Challenge posts for other ideas of how to celebrate the colour red-violet and enter for September’s Monthly Color Challenge prize.

Vibrant Violet: Colour Inspiration Tuesday and Link Party

Vibrant Violet colour scheme by Clever Chameleon

September and October are going to be Very Violet for the 2018 Monthly Colour Challenge

During September we will celebrate all things pinkish-purple – partying on the red side of violet. And then in October we will even things up with the bluer side of the colour family. All very pretty, to be sure.

Purples are high on my list of colours to feature on a quilt. No difficulties there. But I am a little worried about one thing. I suspect what two months of thinking about soft purples really means is…….  I am going to spend 9 weeks thinking all too often about berry-flavoured frozen treats…. mmmmm….

So, to make sure I am not alone in this torturous state, there is one Berry Colourful Bear appliqué coming right up!

There is also lots of new blog hop action for September, a Pattern Tester call and last week’s quilter link up features all packed into this post. Welcome back to Colour Inspiration Tuesday at Clever Chameleon!

Yellow Orange Bear of Loving Friends appliqué by Clever Chameleon

Did you know that Sunday just gone was World Friendship Day? How very appropriate, because it’s our Yellow-Orange Bear’s favourite day of the year!

Yellow-Orange Bear knows that many of the most precious things in life are people – family and good friends. The people you know that you can really rely on, even if you don’t see them as often as you’d like.

The eighth bear in the Beary Colourful Quilt BOM series is cheery and bright and will always stand by you.  Add this loyal bear to your collection to celebrate the wonder of great friendship on your Beary Colourful quilt. Lining Up All My Ducks

lined up yellow-orange ducks

How great was this past week in Quilt Blog Land?!! – so many fabulous Christmas projects, it was hard to know which way to look!

And now it kind of feels like the aftermath of Christmas. All I really want to do is to slump in a corner and digest all the goodies I’ve taken in. But, also true to form, there are things that were neglected in the Christmas frenzy. And then there’s all the new excitement just around the corner….. A bit like New Year 🙂

So, I’m getting all my ducks lined up so you and I don’t miss anything important.

In this post we have:
– reminders about the Teddy Bears’ Picnic giveaway, closing soon
– reminders about July’s colour challenge giveaway, also closing soon
– a heads up about a new tutorial and giveaway here on Monday
– a tease for August’s Beary Colourful Bear
– and a little bonus look at a couple of things I am working on

Beary Colourful BOM: Always Growing Yellow-Green Bear

Yellow-Green Bear of Always Growing by Clever Chameleon

The Always Learning Green Bear from May has been exploring his family tree and he has discovered a cousin! Please welcome the aspirational July Yellow-Green Bear to the Beary Colourful family.

If you spend much time with young children on a regular basis, you will know that they love to think that they are “Big”. And also that they are “Bigger”. Bigger than their siblings….bigger than their peers….. bigger then that mark on the wall that shows how tall they used to be.

Growth charts never really go out of fashion, do they? The motifs on them might change but the very simple act of repeatedly measuring yourself on the wall never grows old. And getting taller is linked to some pretty exciting milestones. Especially if you are aiming to beat a height restriction for that ride at the theme park. 120cm was the obsessed-over mark by my kids, thanks to the waterslide at the local pool. Thankfully, for my sanity, my youngest child is very tall for his age!

So, since I strongly associate the colour yellow-green with fresh growth, the seventh bear in the Beary Colourful Quilt BOM series celebrates all things growing. With a garden on his tummy, a growth chart by his side and an aspirational posture, this bear expects bigger and better things. Or a splat in the eye. Hahahaha, poor bear; I think he’s safe enough with no birds on this quilt. Keep on striving, little bear!
