Seaside Adventures: Week 6

Only two more weeks in the row-along after this!

How time flies when you are having fun!

This week the Chameleon has decided to take a break from touring and spend some time in one spot…. Lazing under a beach umbrella every day and head out snorkelling on the reef making friends with the reef fish.

And thinking about his block pattern day coming up soon. His pattern is all ready to go, and he can’t wait to share it with you in less than a fortnight’s time.

You’ll never guess what our shy, retiring Chameleon chose as the theme for his row-along block design…… Camouflage! Or perhaps, more accurately, the lack of it……

And yes, he’s still a big tease….

While we count sleeps until the Chameleon’s row (!) we have three more row-along patterns available – an amazing beach umbrella and two more wonderful types of fish to add to your healthy ocean ecosystem.

Check out the rest of this post for links to collect these patterns.

A Seaside Adventure: Week 6

A big shout out to Sue Griffiths of Duck Creek Mountain Quilting this week. She is offering a second free pattern for the row-along! If you loved her bucket and spade block, you are sure to also love her companion block of a beach umbrella.

This super beach umbrella block finishes at 12″ square, and even comes with pointers on how to use colours to get the 3D effect of the umbrella.

Carol at Quilt Schmilt has come up with a simple and effective pieced block to make pieced fish. With two sizes, there is so much you could do with these…. individual fish or a whole school – the choice is yours. Carol’s layout of one large and two smaller fish measures 9 ½” x 18 ½” vertically or 18 ½” x 9 ½” horizontally.

And Barbara of Bdieges Designs has designed these unique Garibaldi fish for you. Each fish is 4″ x 6″, and like Carol’s fish above, they can also be arranged in lines or schools however you wish. Barbara has some excellent ideas for arrangements in her pattern.

If you’d like today’s patterns, you can collect them at their respective pages in the links provided.

Thanks also to Mel Shields of The Quilting Room with Mel blog for continuing to host the “A Seaside Adventure” row along this year.

Enjoy!
