How Fairy Exciting. Forest Fairy Crafts ahoy!

Fairy made of felt and thread

Let’s do something a little bit different today, just for fun!

This week I took a break from quilting to do some other crafting. Although it’s not unheard of to find random craft projects on Clever Chameleon, I admit I haven’t done any non-quilty crafting for the blog for ages. It felt good to detour for a day or two!

A while back, I was invited by C&T Publishing to join Lenka Vodicka-Paredes and Asia Currie on a blog hop for their book “Magical Forest Fairy Crafts Through the Seasons”. Well, I couldn’t resist. The book is really cute, the instructions are easy to follow and are genuinely aimed at helping you craft with children. And the icing on the fairy cakes? The projects are designed to use really. sensible. items! In fact, I did not need to buy a thing before my daughter and I could give this book a really good workout – and my non-quilting stash is not very extensive.

Today I’d like to introduce you to Lenka and Asia, and their sweet book. And I’ll point you in the direction of their blog tour so you can have a go at winning an e-copy of the book for yourself. Yay for new friends, fun ideas and a bit of childhood magic!

Wishing Star: Colour Inspiration Tuesday and Link Party

Wishing Star colour scheme by Clever Chameleon

How the blazes did it get to Tuesday again?

No matter. That just means it’s time to party again! Woo hoo, I love this time I set aside each week  to really delve into what others have been up to.

On my side of the fence…… there has been much quilty activity in my sewing room. Sadly, most of it can’t be revealed to you just yet. But I did make a bookmark we can talk about. 🙂 It’s a nice little bookmark, made from scraps of my Aurora Star table runner. I’ve added a little wishing star at the top for luck. I thought it was a nice little nod to the parent project the scraps came from.

Wish Upon a Star bookmark by Clever Chameleon

Actually, I want to give my little aurora wishing star bookmark away to someone who would like it ….  So, let’s have a little game at the Chameleon’s party this week – with my new bookmark as the highly sought after and contested prize!. lol 🙂

All you need to do to win is make my heart glow like the Northern Lights with your answer to a burning question I have….. So, come on over – let’s party like a quilted Chameleon!

Dragonfly Dance – Colour Inspiration Tuesday and Link Party

Dragonfly Dance color scheme by Clever Chameleon

Oh Happy Day (oh happy day….), Oh Happy Day (oh happy day)…..

……when my ScanNCut (when my ScanNCut)….. cut my work away…. oh happy day….!

So, you know I have a new toy, right?…. the ScanNCut CM900 I purchased a few weeks ago. Of course you know…. the blasted thing keeps popping up in my blog. Well, I waaaaas going to stop going on about it after the snow globe project. But…..

I was in the shower the other morning, musing over the technicalities of my current quilt, as I so often do, and a light bulb went on.  Not just any light bulb either. The whole supernova mirrorball affair. With trumpets. The works!

And while I’m sure it’s not a novel idea, it’s new to me and it’s geniuuuuusssss!

Three words. “Infinite template possibilities!”
