Just a quick note to wish you all a very Happy and Safe Christmas
And a Goodbye from the penguin boys! They are putting their sneaky adoption plan into action and have activated their Christmas parcel disguise.
The guys insisted that they had to present you with a little something before they leave.
So, here’s their Christmas birdsong to you.
A Colourful Christmas Song from the Darling Dulcet Duet
We wish you a vivid Christmas
We wish you a dazzling Christmas
We wish you a brilliant Christmas
And a tasteful New Year!Bright colours we bring
For you and your inner penguin
We wish you a vibrant Christmas
And an aesthetic New Year!
Those penguins! They’re a dose of laughing gas. But now they’d better get packing.
With a wave from Mario and a blow kiss from Luigi, that’s a wrap!
A last taste of Christmas!
If you are still in the mood for Christmas reading, try these posts linked up this past week from the Chameleon’s internet friends:
Dear Kathleen of Kathleen McMusing has written you a tutorial on how to use the wonderful characteristics of batiks to make no-sew Danish Stars. The first time I came across these decorations was when a Danish work colleague and friend taught them to me using Danish paper cut especially for this tradition. Good memories, right here.
Wonderful Sandra of mmm! Quilts, linked up this cute little cottage full of 3D adornments and Christmas charm…. and the Chameleon moved straight in. Make yourself at home? Don’t mind if I do!
If anyone asks, Santa broke in via the chimney, and invited Clever in through the front door.
The Chameleon is house trained, and he doesn’t mean any harm. Truth be told, he’s hoping to find a penguin in one of these parcels. He misses them already. Awwwww.
Luckily, he’s easily distracted.
Creative Melva of Melva Loves Scraps has been working on her Time for all Seasons quilt. She’s added a few blocks of her own design…. including this Christmas Tree, with a tutorial if you want to make one too.
And thoughtful Andrée of Quilting and Learning has written a post of strategies for chilling if the stress of trying to do it all in the holiday period gets to you this year.
Time to say Goodnight, have a lovely Christmas
That’s it from me, time to go to bed before Santa skips my house!
But spare a thought though for my fellow Australians who have lost homes and livelihoods in recent days to fires, and everyone else doing it tough these holidays. The fires that almost seem inevitable this year hit our region at the end of our heatwave last week. Four record breaking hot days followed by thunderstorms was never going to end well. If you have a firefighter or other emergency personnel in your family, I hope you get to see them for Christmas and give them a big virtual hug from the rest of us.
And treat us for Christmas with a picture of what you’re working on or just finished. 😀
Tell us – what are you working on, or have recently finished in your sewing room? We want to know so we can visit and be inspired. Link up a blog post, an IG post or simply a photo from your computer. See if you can get the Chameleon to turn quilted with happiness. We’d love to see your quilting colours!
- Link up your latest or recent quilt/sewing excitement. All quilt construction stages welcome – finished quilts, quilt blocks – even fabric pulls! Or inspiration sources!
- You have 50 characters in the link description…. tell us who you are and what your fantastic project is.
- URL links are not necessary to link up…. non-bloggers 100% welcome! If you don’t have a URL, you can link up with just a photo.
- Take a moment to visit some friends who came to the party – leave a little love and make their day. And a link back to Clever Chameleon is always appreciated.
- Do it now……. before you forget!
A very Merry Christmas to you and yours! Thank you for the lovely mention. A sobering reminder of those who have lost so much and those who fought so hard for them. A thanks for another earworm! I do think you have a future as a lyricist!
It’s Christmas Eve morning, and all thru this house we are planning ways to see everyone in our close family before Santa makes his run. (no rhyme here yet). 69 Canadians left yesterday to add their skills to those of our extended family of Australian firefighters, (you know that Aussies and Canucks are related of course), hoping to help contain these awful fires.
We wish you a bright and happy Christmas, and a New year filled with joy and love.
Merry Christmas! Glad to hear that you are safe from the fires, but my heart goes out to those affected and who have lost homes and lives. I hope you enjoy a lovely holiday season with your family!
Merriest of Christmases and a healthy and happy New Year to you and your family, Dione! Stay safe.
awww those penguins were so fun. They will have a fabulous home. Pray that you and yours have a magical Christmas that is full of laughter and fun times together. Merry Christmas.
Hope those boys aren’t wrapped up too long – they need to come out and play! Happy Holidays!
Have a very Happy Christmas, and all the best for a happy and healthy New Year. Stay safe Dione, we keep watching those fires in Australia, and you are in my thoughts.
Hope your Christmas was a good one, and you have the packing under control. When are you going? Guess you will be too far to come this way this year?
Stay cool, another nasty day today, praying that fires will stay away.
