Colour Inspiration Tuesday Collection Number 5
It feels like a really long time since I have put out a Colour Inspiration Tuesday Collection. In fact, it is a long time in the life of a blog…. 12 weeks, with Christmas and New Year and two Beary Colourful Bear patterns and all sorts since then!
Since the last Colour Inspiration Tuesday Collection there have been a lot of people come on board with the Beary Colourful BOM and the Monthly Colour Challenge who may not have explored the dim dark past of the Chameleon. I am truly delighted to have you all join us, and I hope you will also enjoy some of the other ideas that I explore here in between the bears.
A quick summary of the ideas behind Colour Inspiration Tuesday Collection 5…..
In amongst the last 12 weeks of colour boards, we have explored 4 quilt design ideas, two Christmas ornament tutorials, a useful quilt marking tip, a new FMQ design and started our monthly colour focus series. Not to mention the first Beary Colourful Bear is in there as well! Phew!
When I started Colour Inspiration Tuesdays I never envisaged it to be quite that prolific! Or that I’d actually use so many of the ideas generated here. Let’s have a closer look at the last round of colour boards, just in case you missed something.

Do you remember how I said that I was quite excited when I found the photo for the Red Rocket Blue color scheme? Well, I hope you have connected this board with the Blue Bear of High Hopes by now. I designed the Blue Bear way back in November 2017, so you can see why, when I found this photo in January I just *had to* use it in a colour board. Don’t you just love it when life serves you these funny little coincidences? 🙂
I hope you feel inspired by some of the ideas in Colour Inspiration Tuesday Collection 5. If you have missed earlier editions of the Colour Inspiration Tuesday Collection, or would like to find an idea again after a time, they are all accessible via the main menu bar.

Are you aware that January had two full moons? At least, it did here. Further east the second full moon, known as a blue moon, was technically in February and not a blue moon at all. But more excitingly, our blue moon was also a full lunar eclipse. I was lucky enough to get a glimpse between the clouds just after midnight. If you missed it on my Facebook page, here it is. January’s blood blue moon.
I have a quilty idea sparked from this brief but special moment. But you’ll have to wait a fortnight…… next Tuesday’s Colour Inspiration is tied in with Galentine’s Day. In the meantime though, Island Batik are promoting their latest beautiful fabric called….. wait for it…… Blue Moon, and there is a fun blog hop and giveaway happening right now. So go take a look and put your name in the hat!
Pretty color inspirations – I’ll tuck these away for the future! Thanks for sharing!
