Lining Up All My Ducks

lined up yellow-orange ducks

How great was this past week in Quilt Blog Land?!! – so many fabulous Christmas projects, it was hard to know which way to look!

And now it kind of feels like the aftermath of Christmas. All I really want to do is to slump in a corner and digest all the goodies I’ve taken in. But, also true to form, there are things that were neglected in the Christmas frenzy. And then there’s all the new excitement just around the corner….. A bit like New Year 🙂

So, I’m getting all my ducks lined up so you and I don’t miss anything important.

In this post we have:
– reminders about the Teddy Bears’ Picnic giveaway, closing soon
– reminders about July’s colour challenge giveaway, also closing soon
– a heads up about a new tutorial and giveaway here on Monday
– a tease for August’s Beary Colourful Bear
– and a little bonus look at a couple of things I am working on

July is ending, and so is your opportunity to win a prize for sewing up something in yellow-green

Are you participating in the 2018 Color Challenge? You can join in anytime, and do as many or as few blocks as you’d like. July’s colour is yellow-green, and you can sew anything in this colour for a chance to win this fat-eighth collection of Morning Sunshine fabrics from Island Batik.

Link up your creations here at Patterns by Jen before the end of the month and perhaps you’ll be the lucky duck winner. If you haven’t made a yellow-green block because you are short on ideas you can check out all the 2018 Color Challenge bloggers for a variety of quilt blocks. My contribution is the Always Growing Yellow-Green Bear pattern. Links to the other bloggers’ blocks are also available on that post.

Up to seven entires, one for each bear pattern so far. Two quilted postcards are up for grabs by linked up participants and the winners will be announced when the Yellow-Orange Bear pattern is released on the 1st of August.

  1. Your ducks line up much more willingly than mine, I think, but you have some fun things going on! Looking forward to seeing what you are creating for your IB August project!

  2. Dione, you have a LOT of fun duckies lining up there! Can’t wait to see your batik project and August’s bear!!

  3. I can see some orange/yellow coloured batik in my scraps, will get it all ready for next Wednesday. You have been extra busy, and with all the Christmas hops going on, great ideas to save for later.

  4. You certainly have different colours in the Dear William fabrics you’re using! They look great so far. Love seeing all your bears together, and that snow globe coaster–!! I have had a long long love of koala bears, since grade 4 to be exact, when we had to do a research report on an animal and that was mine. No clue if we were studying Australia at the time? I remember being quite taken with the platypus too. It was such a good report that my teacher asked to keep it for an example and well, I said yes, always kind of wished I’d said no as I was so proud of it. I’ll be back to see that post!

  5. Hi Dione! Yousa – you have a lot of ducks to keep and get lined up. I don’t know how you do it all. I love the charity quilt, and have enjoyed all the Christmasy posts being shared in blogland lately. Happy Sunday! ~smile~ Roseanne

  6. How do you do it all? I love those cheery little bears, they are looking adorable together. Your charity quilt reminds me of my string quilt which I finished this week. You are doing great on your August project. Blocks will be made here today if all goes well!
