Love with a Twist Signature Block

Love with a Twist signature appliqué block Lasting Love Balloon by Dione Gardner-Stephen of Clever Chameleon Quilting

It’s only the 24th of February and I have completed this month’s planned Love with a Twist February blocks. And even better, the patterns too! Wonders never cease!

Today’s Love Balloon pattern is the second option for the large centre block of the Love with a Twist throw size quilts. You’ll also need it for the twin size quilt. It’s an easy block, I think the fastest so far. It only has two fabrics and no extra details to embroider.

Grab your pdf pattern download below, take a quick look at the assembly order and go for it. We all love a quick project. Also, once you have grabbed your pattern, it’d be great if you’d share your win with your friends. It’s always good to share the love around!

Dancing a Jig to a little Ditty: Colour & Inspiration Tuesday

Ditty fabrics from Island Batik colour scheme at Clever Chameleon

Introducing Ditty

Ditty is the name of one of Island Batik’s latest fabric releases. The colours are as cute as their name… Kind of a pastelly sunset. Actually, I don’t easily recognise them as pastels but I guess that is what they really are, since they are nowhere near colour-saturated. Is there such things as bright pastels? If there wasn’t, there is now.

I received 10″ precut squares of Ditty and two pieces of yardage from the collection in my Island Batik Ambassador allowance. I hope you have been following along and already know what I am making from some of it…. but let’s have a look in more detail. And I will show you what is in the parcel Accuquilt sent me too as part of the Island Batik Ambassador program. Of course it arrived the instant I stopped waiting for it…. that is the way it always works, right?! Right.

Love with a Twist Throw Quilt Assembly Instructions

One of the three options in the Love with a Twist free quilt-along at Clever Chameleon in 2019.

Let’s get this party started!

Last post I announced my latest big idea. The BOM…. or perhaps it should more accurately be the BOF? (approximately block of the fortnight)….. available here for 2019. Whatever we are going to call it, let’s get this very casual and fun quilt-along off the ground!

In this post you will find my first lap-size quilt top constructed pre-appliqué and a pdf download of the instructions so you can start yours too. Of course, it is not necessary to pre-assemble your quilt top before you applique the blocks. You can definitely choose to appliqué all your balloons before you assemble them. But information is power, and after today’s post you can make some informed decisions on how you wish to proceed.
