Teal with red-violet and blue-violet. Now I’m inspired!
Have you seen these recent fabrics from RJR Fabrics? Today’s colour board is created from this really beautiful subset of the current RJR Blossom Batiks – Splash collection. Aren’t they glorious?
These colours are consuming a lot of my attention at the moment. Hopefully you’ve caught up with yesterday’s release of the tenth bear in the Beary Colourful BOM…. and saw the blue-violet RJR fabrics used there. Of course, September’s bear was red-violet. And November’s will be teal. But that’s not where my current obsession with these colours ends – not by a long shot. There is a small thanksgiving-themed project in progress in my sewing room featuring these fabrics as well. I intend to have it for download on the blog for you by the end of the month, all being well. Maybe even have some fabric leftovers to give away! 🙂
In the meantime…..
Thank you to everyone who shared their fusible adhesive experience
The winner from last week’s competition for the quilted bookmark is Julie. Congratulations Julie, I have sent you an email. It was a tough choice…. there were lots of really really helpful comments. Julie pointed out a product that I haven’t tried that seems genuinely promising, and she broke the ice with the first comment, for which I am always grateful.
Thank you to all of you who generously gave of your time and experience to help Janice and me out with fusible tips. I suspect you have helped/will help more people than just us with all your comments in one place. And a special thanks to Jeanette with her epic poem too…. I wish I had more than one bookmark to give away, that’s for sure!
I don’t know about you, but I tend to suffer from a bit of customer inertia, sticking to using the same thing over and over unless it becomes unbearable. Even if there might be better options out there. I’ll admit, I am a bit inspired to do a comparison of a few fusibles at some stage with last week’s variety of recommendations. I was also relieved to find out that some products are naturally sticky and that it’s not just user error.
If you’d still like to add your two cents worth to the fusible adhesive discussion you can comment here.
This week’s Chameleon Colour Party feature
This week the Chameleon was in the mood to get all arty. It’s Andrée’s fault…. Andrée from Quilting and Learning – What a Combo walked us through her latest abstract art quilt and Wow! What she hasn’t packed into her little piece isn’t worth adding. Head on over and take a closer look…. you’ll find fabric weaving, driftwood, improv beading, felting, hand-dyed fabric and more.
My sincerest thanks to everyone who linked up last week. If you were featured you can find a badge of honour here.
Link up to the Chameleon’s Linky Party this week and show us your projects
What are you working on, or have recently finished in your sewing room? Link up a blog post, a Flicker pic, an IG post or simply a photo from your computer. See if you can get the Chameleon to turn quilted with happiness. We’d love to see your quilting colours.

Oh, those colors are so pretty. Curious what you are creating with them. Went back to read the comments on the fusible, which was very informative. I may have to check out a few new ones. Nothing to link up today, but thanks for hosting this each week!
Very beautiful fabrics! No doubt you are having super fun playing with them. Oct bear is cute. I hope to get my done yet this week.
Thanks for sharing.
I would love to make something with those fabrics. I can’t wait to see what you make with them.
I found these new colours so delicious. They take me from the evening sky to the ocean surface and just below, to the depths of the water and the life that teems there. Whatever you are making with them, it will no doubt be a joy to create. Isn’t it interesting how much more energy we might have for doing something if we love the colours involved with the making.
OK, I’m officially in love with these fabrics from RJR!! Gonna have to do some shopping! I have been asked to make our guild’s donation quilt for next year. I’ve picked (and tweaked!) a pattern and am now shopping for fabric. I will definitely use batiks but will need several so I may mix up the manufacturers since I can’t find one line that I like!! Thanks, Dione!
The Splash fabrics are just gorgeous, look forward to see what you make with them.
Love this month’s colour !
Great colors! And the art project is beautiful 🙂
What lovely colors!
