Welcome to another Tuesday! Thanks for being here…. It means a lot to me, as there is a lot of quality quilting activity on the internet this week!
(Click here if you are looking for my Wish Upon A Star blog hop post from Monday). Of course, stay here if you are looking for your weekly dose of Chameleon colour and quilt inspiration. 🙂 Better yet, do both…..
Do you remember these tulips I showed you last week?
I received these on Mother’s Day. So they are now over a week old and they look like this:
Spectacular and artistic, just as I promised. And very hard to photograph as a group, I might add. Too many divas and not enough limelight.
Anyway, each tulip has opened up to reveal a striking and beautiful 6-pointed star in the centre. What can I say? Mother Nature still has my vote as the greatest designer of all time!
Always Inspired by Stars
You just cant go wrong with stars on quilts. They must be one of the most popular quilt themes of all time. And you don’t have to look far this week to find inspiration for your next star-themed quilt. There is a whole blog hop going on, thanks to Carol at Just Let Me Quilt!
My contribution was yesterday, with a toddler quilt called Three Wishes Monkey. There were also eight other star-themed projects to admire yesterday, so if you didn’t see the hop, do yourself a favour and head back one blog post here on Clever Chameleon.
There are also another nine bloggers with star-studded projects to peruse today…… they are at the bottom of this post for your blog-surfing convenience. But just before you get distracted by that and head off-site, let’s have a look at last week’s link party stars. And quickly take the opportunity to show us what you have been working on lately too.
Last week’s Colour Party – featured posts
Last week we had our second stellar collection of quilt projects linked up to the Chameleon’s Colour Party. Since quilts with stars are the over-whelming theme of the week, the Chameleon thought that he’d best stick with the program and feature a starry quilt or two.
DebBee linked up again with another photo of a beautiful quilt. I can see Deb and I are meant to be BCBFs (best colour buddies forever)…. these blues and greens are my favourite!
Deb’s quilt was listed as “Ed’s birthday quilt”. I’m wondering if that is because she can’t spell “Dione”? haha It has a nine-star centre. Actually, I’d give this quilt 10 stars, wouldn’t you? 🙂
The other starry-eyed linker from last week was desertsuz from Desert Sky Quilting. Red, White and Blue patriotic stars are starting to appear in her Desert Sky. Head on over to her post to find out more.
And one non-star themed feature (just because I can)
Oh, the Chameleon didn’t know what to do when he saw someone in the linky thumbnails as cheeky as himself! He just about went supernova! Raewyn of Stitching Farm Girl has been testing this emu paper-piecing pattern for a designer I already revere, Juliet of the Tartankiwi.
Don’t you think he looks like mischief in a can?!
Thanks to everyone who linked up. I really enjoyed visiting you all. If you were featured you can find a badge of honour here.
Now it’s time to do it all again….. Link up your latest quilting projects and show the Chameleon your colours!
We’d love to see what colours you are quilting in at the moment, so show us what you are making or getting excited about!
Guidelines (more detail here):
- Link up your latest or recent quilt excitement. All construction stages welcome, from a quilt plan, a fabric pull, quilt blocks, a flimsy, to a finished quilt…. if you have a photo you love, we want to see it.
- You have 100 characters in the link description…. tell us who you are and what wonderful colours you’ve chosen. We might get inspired to use a similar colour scheme and be very grateful to you.
- URLs are not necessary to link up, but if you have one, please use the permalink. A link back is appreciated but not necessary.
- Do you use muted/pastel/low volume colours? Fantastic….. the Chameleon wants to see Everything, not just the bright stuff!
I hope you will link up some quilt goodness you are working on, or a quilt you have just finished, and then check out the blog hops that are on this week.
And come back next week to see if you’ve caused the Chameleon to disguise himself as your quilt.

Thank you for hosting the linky party. Now I have 2 reasons to visit you on Tuesday. Flowers do not last long at my house, no green thumb here. It would help if the deer didn’t enjoy tulips as a midnight snack.
Oh, what a nice surprise! I love being featured and collecting the cute buttons for my sidebar and linking them back to the source. Thank you! I love your tulips, a beautiful variety. Your posts never fail to make me smile at least once, and usually more. Thank you for that, too.
Those tulips are gorgeous! And you are right, Mother Nature IS the best designer of all time!!
HI Dione – it’s lovely to see my Emu here on your page, thank you! I’m struggling to get another post written this week but will link up again when I can. Even as they age, the Tulips ae beautiful – and oh yes, agree with the amazing-ness of mother nature 🙂
Hi Dione, those tulips are truly wonderful. They are the only cut flowers that I buy cause they don’t smell, but they are one of my favourites – and I can’t grow them because the squirrels move them around the neighborrhood!
